Where do you begin?
When selecting a venue or reception facility to host your event you can help narrow your search by asking yourself the following questions:
- Is your date negotiable?
- Do you wish to host your event indoors or out?
- Are you looking for a hotel, golf course or reception hall?
- Are you looking for a rental facility or open grounds that permit the use of hiring outside vendors, catering and bar service?
- Are you wanting your reception to be completely private or are you open to sharing the use of common grounds?
- Do you wish to host both ceremony and reception at the same location? If so, is it mandatory to have your ceremony performed indoors or outdoors?
- What is the furthest distance you are willing to travel in order to locate the perfect venue that meets all your event needs?
- Do you have a reception budget in place? In this budget what services and outside vendors have you allotted for?
- Are you planning a themed event that will require unique facilities, grounds and ambiance?
- What is the maximum number of anticipated guests including you the couple and bridal party? Of this list how many are from out of town?
- Do you require your venue to be near Hotels?
- What is the single most important “must have” for your reception? Example: windows, water or mountain views, open space?
